Landscape, The task of this assignment was to take a photo of landscape. Sounds easy huh? To be honest not really, looking for a place and then having great competition is 2 hard things to put together. In this photo im not sure what kind of plant it it but you see this big green like flower as the main focus. After that the photo leads the photo leads you back to the purple flowers then the green ice plants in front. This photo was done planned out and taken at our very own school. I like this photo even in natural shoot despite the fact it was photoshoped. This picture still turned our really amazing with the help of Ms.Miles for the photoshop.

Extra Credit Culture Part 2

Model: Greg Dawson
Some people say that women are the only ones who wear makeup. But honestly flamboyant and even gay men should be able to use make up as well. Whats wrong with a man wanting to use powder or eyeliner to highlight a few areas on ones face? Here I show a male model posing in a mirror wearing a few simple facial products and make up around him. As you can see he is wearing foundation, powder, eye liner, and even mascara. You see him looking into the mirror checking it over and over again to see if his make up is well put on. A few things I like about this picture is the lighting and the composition. The lighting was brighten up more on his face and on the lamp to show emphasis on the make up he is wearing. Nothing fancy with angles or anything but the lay out of the model and the make up surrounding him brings out the general idea of what is going on. One thing I dont like about this is the angle of cutting out some of his full face out of the mirror. One thing that comes to mind when ive taken this picture is whats wrong with men wearing make up? its 2010 we have cross genders, gays, bis, lesbians and even trans genders. I dont see whats wrong with a male wearing makeup.
Cultural assignment
For this assignment we had to shoot about our culture or about our identity in some way. This assignment kept me thinking for a while. Figuring out what to take a shot of. Then it hit me watching a video about National Gay Awareness Day. The Video was about a teenage student doing a Psychology experiment to show straight people what its like being gay. What he had to do was ask a few friends to volunteer and to go around the mall wearing a hot pink T-shirt saying Im Gay. His project was a success because his straight friends got to some what view what its like being gay. In this photo you see the the male model wearing a tape with written words onto it. Words stating "NOH8" and the expression on his face shows that he is in thought and in concern. next to him from afar is a cross with Jesus Christ. The who catholic point of view about being gay is wrong is shown in this picture. You see him semi shirtless and just wearing pants in a white background. You could assume the model could be gay because of the NOH8 sign but hes not just posing. The tape is red because Red symbolized love and since the model is posing to be gay he loves men and seems like he has to live a double life living up to gods wishes as well as his own sanity. I like this picture because it shows who I was at the time living a double life. The lighting and composition is well done as well. The thing I dont like about this picture is the random red dot holding the cross. I didnt realize that was there till now.
Landscape review

For this assignment we had to go online and look around for landscape images that we liked. The image that I have chosen to write about is an image of being in the mountains and its snowy. I chose this picture cause to me this picture the landscape just looks pretty. Its pretty because it seems quiet its shows that snow has fallen and it also makes you assume that its winter. The composition of this picture is really well taken as well. your first focus are the trees in front of the stream of water and then the stream of water leads you down to the rest of the scenery. The view really is astonishing to see mountains, trees, stream, sky and clouds. Another reason why I have chosen this shot is because its snowy. Snow has always amazed me and I have never seen snow in person yet. Snow to me is an amazing thing that mother nature does. Snow is kind of unnatural in a sense because its bizarre in my opinion. Another thing I like about this is the lighting cause its like morning light. The lighting is very essential in this picture because it helps bring out the scenery more.

Point and Shoot part 2

In this photo we have the original to the right and the photoshopped version to the right. I see foot steps walking out of this splatted what you could possible assume maybe paint or blood but I wont say. You also see someone onto the side like as if there waiting for the other person who has left the trail of blood to be done with what ever work there doing. To me this shoot was done purposely because you can tell by the photographer (ME) that this was planned out due to the layout of the area. It was shot out doors or well to put it simpler it was shot out of the ceramic room and we happen to find these foot steps outside and a splatted area and I though hmm maybe I can use this in a cool way somehow. I like the setting of the area and these were my intentions of actually using this setting/location. What I dont like about this picture is the fact there's no props or anything although you can assume something must of happened because of the trail of blood. This was the point and shoot project we did and I learned a lot more about what could be shoot in school instead of always assuming I can go out of school to shoot better pictures.

Point and Shoot Project :D
So apparently in class we had a discussion that taking pictures in school have gotten boring. But then yesterday, Ms. Miles made a point that we are not looking around enough or Broadening our point of view with in the setting in school. To the left we have this picture out side of school and to the right it we have it in school. It is true we have more a variety to choose around when we shoot out of school but when you look at it from Ms. Miles point of view with looking at backgrounds and shapes and colors it actually changed how much we can look at what is around us. The right was shoot near the bathrooms by the Senior Circle and our model Nick was in a tree reaching out, then I had Ms. Miles come in to reach out to him to change the outline of the whole look of the picture. Originally her arm wasnt there but with her arm being there it changed drastically. I like the lighting it brings a good mood especially with the setting that this picture was taken place. Especially the left picture, taken outside of Penn Elem. going up the hill. Both of these pictures had really good elements within them such as lighting and contrast. I guess one of the things I didnt like about the picture in the left was probably the tree branches randomly comming out in the right side of the picture like in the sky, the right picture I didnt like how the hands didnt line up well, I guess I should have taken the pictures better more and such or so.

Natural Lighting/ Portrait retake 2

Model Lance Mom and Baby Sister Jenna <3
So I decided to take two different portrait pictures but between the two I have to say this one was better than the first, well Lighting wise anyways and it look more natural I guess with this one the composition is blahh but over all I have to say this Kind of had a depth of field because behind Jenna is a little blurry and the focus is the mom. This came out better than I expected and as ive stated, this looks really natural like your just seeing the moment in front of you and you so happen to capture the moment of a mother holding her child close to her as the baby takes a rest.
Natural Lighting / Portrait retake Part 1

Model: Lance Sutherby
So I know this is kind of posed but I just wanted to attempt this project with a out door look and out of the many pictures ive taken with my model this is one of my favorite. I likt the composition in this because everything isnt so flat, Model sticks out and the angle isnt so bad but in general its a good picture. What I didnt like about this picture is the angle could of probably looked better if I moved more down and angled it so it doesnt look weird with the wood behind him blocking the sight of the trees. Although this is also kind of posed, what I originally wanted to do is take a picture of him not noticing when he got on the ledge so it was a unexpected picture but to me it seems fine. Location is in front of a church in Chula vista an we happen to just be strolling around and I wanted to take pictures with his camera.

Portrait Report part 2

Model: Robbie Kincade
So part 2 of this project was to take a picture of some one in a natural lighting area. So its 8 o clock in the morning and my model happens to be sleeping still in bed and his window is fully open and its very bright, I couldnt help but realize that this was something I could use for this assignment. At first I didnt plan out taking this photo till I came in his room and realized that this project needed to be done, Now see comparing this natural non posed picture to a picture that is posed really shows a difference. I think a fun thing about this assignment was the fact that my model wasnt known he was going to be used, I think if my model knew about him being photographed I think he would of accidently posed on accident because he wouldnt know what he would be doing and would assume he has to pose. I kind of wished instead of a morning light it was more like broad light or daylight so lighting would be a bit better.
Portrat report part 1
So this assignment we had to read and as well as take a picture of some one in natural lighting. Part 1 will be about my reflection about the article we read about in photography. A photographer by the name Manjari Sharma helps explain the difference between the topics of a Portrait picture and a Snapshot picture. she says "The difference between a snapshot and a portrait cannot be said in one word, because there are many differences. For one, a snapshot is an "in the moment thing". A portrait on the other hand is much more sensual, and much more connected." To me that comes of as with a snapshot it could come cross as a natural looking picture no pose just caught in the moment, the normal moments you see when your just going along with your day. Then theirs the "Portrait" look when you pose and you change your natural looks into a more posed look. Ironically sometimes a natural look may look posed and planned out but naturally in my opinion it seems like some times people just naturally pose when working or just being to themselves.
Time Line
This project was fairly decent, Meaning there was a lot to do but at the same time not as fun as much as the other projects that were given to us in the past. Although having to work with other people was Interesting since having to spend time together as well as coming together with ideas on what to do. Working with Rianna and Joanna was easy on most parts, Our time line was about what was going on each decade starting from 1910-2010. I learned a lot of new things during this assignment such as what was the first colored film/paper came out as well as hitory facts I never learned about in class either cause I forgotten it or Never was told. It was hard to cooperate with Joanna and Riannah because Communication wasnt well planned out or I didnt hear much about what was supposed to be done. I wished I could of contributed more ideas with this project but in the end it seems that the prokect came out well.

Diversity

Photo shopped :D
This project was probably one of the hardest projects so far but I had fun with this. Shooting with digital and being able to see what your images look like before you print them and the original was posted in a previous blog in March to show the original work when it is in color. So here we have the original version fresh from the printer and photo shopped :D I liked this project a lot because it gives a better lighting than natural light would. Working with this many people was a interesting opportunity since all my previous work has been done with 1 model and no more. The Idea to show diversity within school through the arts and people was really interesting. I didnt know what to do at first but in the end I feel I was able to pull it off well and it got good in the end and I finished the project well.

Photoshop softning picture project blahhhh :D

So for this assignment we had to get our brush picture and soften it with photoshop but since I had procrastinated on this assignment I had to use another persons photo to soften because some how My original was deleted off the computer it was originally on. So I had ask permission from Ms Miles to re do it and she just said to ask a friend and do it on their photo and I had ask Jazmin (Jasmin?) for hers and I still rememberd how to soften a Bit but a little help from another student cause I had forgotten some of the steps. I have read the tutorial along the way it was hard at first but then I eventually got it :)

Photoshop editing :D

So our task was to photoshop, learning to deal with brushes making it look like a and well structured. Learning this process was pretty fun to be honest, I wanted to learn photoshop and learning about the brushes and how to arrange them better than mixing them around although I had used the blow brush or so cause it seemed fun. IM PRETTY SURE MS MILES WILL MARK ME DOWN but at the same time the learning experience was more worth it than making it all pretty or so because the knowledge is more important than the look. The process in doing this assignment is pretty fun. The process in learning the brush was very fun. I have to say it was kind of hard because I wasnt sure with what to do with mine but Im satisfied with it being plain and simple.

Studio Lighting

Model Jenny Trang, Palina Nygun
Studio lighting, For me this task wasnt that easy to be honest. The process wasnt easy cause there was only a limited amount of space to take the photos. Unlike my other Ideas this is one that doesnt relate to dance as you can see jenny is pouting because shes the underdog, Sitting on the floor sad like a little child I must say. Palina is right above her looking all cool but you dont see her upper body just her lower body to show shes not the underdog. Lightings pretty decent I wish her eyes could of shown better and contrast isnt to bad in my opinion. When I was shooting this piece I thought about children when they would run and play and mess around with their friends. Again Jenny is the under dog cause shes like the little girl with a older sister who tells her what to do. It was fun making the models pose in different was but By far this was one of the best ones I have to say Ive taken with studio lighting.
Sequencing

Model:
Kim Garner
So one of our assignments was to shoot sequencing and here I have 6 photos with me. The front and back of the booklet and as well as 4 images from the inside. Can you tell where it starts? There's a total of 10 images in the booklet I have made including the front and back. Here I only displayed the 1st picture within the book, 5th 6th and as well as the 7th picture in the book. Sequencing was fun I have to say, It took me awhile to think of what I wanted to do and I instantly got it when I saw dancers dancing at the school and it looked very I guess you can say graceful. It came to mind what I wanted my Model to do. I had to get a dancer of course who could do what its called either a Turn or a Forte and I have to say the contrasting is a little dark but its good in my opinion. The photos were taken outdoors cause I originally wanted it on a stage but I couldnt just get my model on the stage to do this. Other than taking these pictures I have to say decorating was fun. Adding many colors many different designs. I wonder if you could tell what I was trying to do in the 5th 6th and 7th picture cause theres something I do in each page with the colors. I gave this book title "The Dance Has Just Begun" because I see the next few asignments of mine will deal with dancers in them now cause Dancing is beautiful wheather it be hip hop or tap or jazz or modern etc... These photos were probably taken 2-4 times each wanted to get the right lighting and the right details of what I wanted to show in my pictures. I have to say I did a prety good job on this assignment compared to everything else Ive worked on so far

Motion Re Take Part 2

Model Rachelle Aguilar
Stop motion was the idea for this photo. Indeed the focus is on the tree but in my opinion even though the focus isnt on her its a pretty good picture still for stop motion. I kind of dont like this picture compared to the first retake of motion but Its ok. The thing I like about re taking this project is the fact the model was able to listen well and she isnt in a photography class but she was able to listen and take directions well. Here you see her being a cheer leader type like person. Again shes still being able to express how she feels through dance and sometimes it doesnt have to be so well structured like ballet or something so intense like modern or jazz but even just freestyle like or I guess you can say being a cheer leader. The thing I wish I could have done was again ger her in focus unlike something else again, and have the model a bit more darker. I like this picture to a certain extent but I prefer the first one more over this one.
Motion Re take part 1
So I decided to redo motion since I didn't really like my first try at it. Or well I should say it wasn't really showing much motion. Comparing this to the first take you can see that more motion is showing with in the models scarf and her hair. My pictures have been relating to dance lately cause dancing to me is like expressing your body through movement, A lot could be said just by a dance. For instance shes doing a "turn" in a dance form and the model is just dancing around having a good time. I think the lighting could be a little darker on the model and could also be more in focused because its a tad bit blurry but its tolerable. What I intentionally wanted done was for her to be smiling while she does a turn like shes happy to dance, shes happy to express her motion in any way she wants but as you see shes not doing that but as ive stated its still "tolerable" This photo was taken outside to show and express she is willing to dance where ever she wants outside and inside kind of like a high school musical thing just not singing. I think this photo is pretty good compared to my first try with motion.
